Strupai was founded by Rivolta, a family of shoemakers, to create shoe laces complementing the qualities of bespoke work. Strupai laces are 100% rigorously made in Italy, leveraging on Italy's traditional qualities and excellence in yarn spinning and dyeing. Rivolta is an old Milanese name dating back to the 1883 and although the companies work separately now, Strupai remains a world leader and is largely popular among bespoke shoemakers around the world.
